Ìyá Wúlèmọ́tù Àlàkẹ́ Ẹ̀rínoṣó Sàlámì, ìyálórìṣà
Priestess Ìyá Àlàkẹ́, our spiritual guardian and a venerable spiritual ancestor, was born into a family of òrìṣà priests in Abẹ́òkùta, Nigeria. Her mother Kẹ́yìndé Ẹnioṣó was a priestess and the founder of the Ọmọlú Burùkú temple in Kénta Okebodè in Abéòkúta. Ìyá Àlàkẹ́ was specialized in Ọmọlú Burùkú, Ìyá-mí, Ọbalúwayé, Erinlẹ̀, and other òrìṣà. She was a respected member of the Ògbóni society.
Ṣówùnmí Fábùnmi, bàbáláwo
Bàbáláwo Fábùnmi is our spiritual father, the godfather of our community, our master, an orientator, a spiritual guardian, and a venerable spiritual ancestor of those who received their initiation in the Oduduwa temple in Brazil.
He was born in Abéòkúta, Nigeria, in a traditional Ifá family. He started to study Ifá at the age of six and spent 30 years mastering this knowledge before he became a practicing bàbáláwo. He performed more than 1,000 Ifá initiations in Nigeria and Brazil. He was a respected member of the Ògbóni society. He possessed profound knowledge about the òrìṣà and was a specialist in the traditional Yoruba medicine.
He acknowledged the importance of the Slovenian group for the recognition of the Yoruba philosophy in Europe. In 2003, at the age of 83, he passed into the ancestral world.
Jọláoṣó Ifágbọ́láhàn Músílíù - Bàbá Ẹgbẹ́, bàbálórìṣà
Priest Bàbá Ẹgbẹ́ was born in Abẹ́òkúta, Nigeria. He was raised from an early age to be an òrìṣà priest and became a specialist on Ẹgbẹ́, Ìrókò, Egúngún, Momo, Orò, Ọbalúwayé, and other òrìṣà. He was a healer and had numerous apprentices who were studying under his tutelage. He was a respected member of the Ògbóni society.
He passed into the ancestral world in 2021.
Ṣówùnmí Awódiran Àlàmù, bàbáláwo
Bàbáláwo Awódiran was born in Abéòkúta, Nigeria, in the family of notable Ifá priests. His father was the olúwo of Ifá for Abéòkúta. He was a very active and respected bàbáláwo and a notable member of the Ifá community. Besides practicing Ifá initiations and rituals, he was a healer and a specialist in the òrìṣà Orò. He was a respected member of the Ògbóni society.
He passed into the ancestral world in 20221.
Chief Àkànjí Adébísí - bàbálórìṣà, traditional Yoruba artist
Chief Àkànjí Adébísí is a bàbálórìṣà, who was born in Òṣogbo, Nigeria, in the family of priests. As he was destined to become a priest as well, he started his training when he was still a child. He was highly qualified and extremely respected in the Ògbóni society as an olúwo Ìyá-mí. His artistic career began in 1950, and he became a world-renowned master as a member of the team of artists reconstructing the Ọ̀ṣun-Òṣogbo Sacred Grove. Chief Adébísí is the author of the magnificent buildings that are part of the Oduduwa temple in Abẹ́òkúta as well as the mastermind and author of all the original Yoruba architectural adornments in the Oduduwa temple in Mongaguá, Brazil. He serves as a mentor to many young artists.
Obimọnúrẹ̀ Àṣàbí Díyàólú, ìyálórìṣà
Priestess Ìyá Àṣàbí is our spiritual mother, the godmother of our community, our spiritual protector, and a venerable spiritual ancestor of those who received their initiation in the Oduduwa temple in Brazil.
She was born in Abéòkúta, Nigeria. Since childhood, she was raised to become an òrìṣà priestess. As a specialist in the traditional Yoruba healing, she served as a mentor to many healers. She was a respected member of the Ògbóni society.
She passed into the ancestral world in 2005.
Kẹ́hìndé Àbẹ̀kẹ́ - Ìyá Àbíyè, ìyálórìṣà
Priestess Ìyá Àbíyè, our venerable spiritual ancestor, was born in Abẹ́òkúta, Nigeria. She was a priestess with wide experience in relation to all the òrìṣà, from Èṣù to Ọbàtàlá, and an authority in performing initiations into special òrìṣà, such as Àbámodá, Olúgbómògún, etc. She practiced medicine and magic, was well versed in the magical preparation of òògùn, and was a true master in the science of plants. She was a respected member of the Ògbóni society.
She passed into the ancestral world in 2018.
Sárátù Àbíkẹ́ - Ìyá Látìn, ìyálórìṣà
Our venerable spiritual ancestor Ìyá Látìn was born in Abẹ́òkúta. She was a priestess specialized in the òrìṣà Ọbàtàlá. As a healer, she was a specialist with regards to Ọ̀sányìn, and her experience in relation to Ọ̀ṣun, Ògbóni, Òkè, and Egúngún was truly remarkable. She was a member of the Ògbóni society.
She passed into the ancestral world in 2020.
Ògúnbáyò Wòsílátù Àmọ̀pé - Ìyá Páláke, ìyálórìṣà
The priestess Ìyá Páláke originated from Abẹ́òkúta, Nigeria. She was born wrapped in an amniotic sac (an instance of the so-called “en caul” birth, where a child is born in an intact foetal membrane), which signified a very special blessing on behalf of the òrìṣà Ọbàtàlá. This is why she was referred to as Ọ̀kẹ́ òrìṣà and why she was destined to become an òrìṣà devotee and an òrìṣà priestess. She was a specialist with a wealth of experience in relation to all the òrìṣà, from Èṣù to Ọbàtàlá, and had a profound knowledge of Ìyá-mí. It is said that the Supreme God blessed her with the ability to heal and help people. She dedicated her life to the òrìṣà theology. She was an authority on performing initiations into special òrìṣà, such as Àbámodá, Olúgbómògún, etc. She practiced medicine and magic and was proficient in the preparation of magical amulets. She was also known as a true master in the science of plants. She was a respected member of the Ògbóni society.
She passed into the ancestral world in 2021.
